Pineapple: public space usage
The MS Foundation of the Cayman Islands would like to create easier access and more shaded seating at the Beautiful Sound Sound park and Beach. My son is a surfer and we spend a great deal of time at the lovely spot. Over the past year or so we have noticed more families enjoying this space. The grass area has a beautiful view of the beach but it lacks seating and shade. People that suffer from Multiple Sclerosis and other diseases can have mobility issues as well low tolerance to heat. Our idea is to create one or two shaded seating areas that allow a nice view of the sea but are easy to get to from the parking area. We have also have a commitment from Jason Kennedy to paint the benches so they are another interesting and fun addition to the park area. In the past someone has planted coconut trees in certain areas that actually block the view. We would like to relocate these so they continue to grow; but allow a more direct view of the sea.
We will need digging equipment to relocate the small palm trees. We would also speak with friends from National Trust for their input on where to relocate the trees.
