Cayman Islands Crisis Centre - Quiz Night

  • Cayman Islands Crisis Centre Estella's Place, Crown Square Eastern Avenue, George Town Cayman Islands (map)

Project Category:
Stars: solidarity (community engagement)

Project Description:
The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre is a not for profit organisation who rely on our fantastic volunteers. Without these volunteers, we would not be able to support as many people in the Cayman Islands who are experiencing domestic violence. Our volunteers give up their time every week to help in the TAYA (Teens and Young Adults) Lounge, the Emergency Shelter, the Kids Helpline and some give up their lunch hour on a Tuesday to help at our warehouse. They also assist once a month at our Warehouse Day where we offer extra support to our clients and ex-clients by way of donations that have been handed into us. We are governed by Board Members who are also all volunteers and have sub committees of volunteers who help with fundraising and marketing. Very often, our volunteers give up their valuable time at very short notice in order to provide this much needed support.
Therefore we are going to have a Volunteer Celebration on Saturday 1st June where we will invite all of our volunteers to come and celebrate with us in Estella's Place where we will have a Quiz Night with fun and games and some lovely food by way of thanking them for their continued support. Without them, many people would not receive the support they really need. Volunteers change lives!
